BRODAC 2022
Crypto-Landscapes Pierre Courtin 16 – 26 April 2022 Opening exhibition: April 16th 2022 at 19:00 Gallery Brodac, Brodac 5, Sarajevo, BiH
« Crypto-Landscapes#2 represents the « Top 100 » cryptocurrencies in circulation. Each landscape precisely shows the fluctuations of the 100 main crypto-currencies since their creation date and their circulation on the blockchain until May 1, 2021, the symbolic date of Labor Day.
Crypto-Landscapes#2 offers a visual representation from encrypted data of the fluctuations of crypto-currencies transposed into paintings made with Indian ink on paper. The graphs corresponding to the fluctuations of digital currencies take the form of mountain landscapes assimilating to extraterrestrial landscapes or to terrestrial landscapes of future planet earth that we would have definitively abandoned.
I add in this series a traditional landscape art in Indian ink crossed with the graphic language of the contemporary digital dematerialized economy. In the form of mountainous landscapes, one can visually imagine the evolution and variations in the values of cryptocurrencies on the market, the difficult periods, and the most fruitful periods in their history. It is a visual, poetic, and conceptual representation of the history of digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Dogecoin, Binance Coin, Dai, Filecoin… which then no longer have anything virtual.
