Curatorial Rebound Project

Collective exhibition of video art gathering 120 artists from 20 different countries: this is a fragmentary panorama of a contemporary activity whose formal multiplicity and abundance coerce us into questioning the reality of what is “visual”, it’s temporality and it’s mobility. We have no other ambition here than to open up a crack in the video-graphic universe, to give a glimpse of the richness and multiplicity of form of the medium, with no attempt at extracting one or several tendencies that would serve to somehow refine an act of showing that intends to be purely “raw”. No subjects, no central questions, no techniques, no set time limit. The curatorial work functions by ricochet. The gallery invites numerous artistes and several curators, as each of the artists can invite another, who in turn can submit the work of a third artist, etc.
We present a free and empirical principle of accumulation of works, to which the spontaneity of the presentation corresponds: free access to approximately 150 videos, a flat screen and a DVD player.

Galerija 10m2 vam prestavlja «Video-Salon», izlozba posvecena savremenim umjetnickim video radovima. Vise od 120 umjetnitka iz 20 zemlja ucestvuje na ovom drugom izdanju. Ovom se izlozbom zeli sakupiti veliki spektar savremenih video produkcija.
Video radovi se razlikuju u velikoj mjeri, i ne pripadaju nijednom posebnom stilu ili skoli, te je tesko izdvojiti jedan poseban pokret ili tendenciju. Polazeci od te cinjenice da bi se uvidjela raznolikost ovih umjetnickih radova (sadrzaj i zanr), princip koji se ovdje primjenjuje je rikoset ; djecija igra zvana « zabice » koja ima za princip odbijanje kamencica od vodenu povrsinu.
Znaci, galerija 10m2 ce ugostiti mnoge umjetnike koji ce pored svojih prikazati i djela drugih ili trecih umjetnika. Tu ne nalazimo ni temu ni problematiku, posebnu tehniku ili odredjeno trajanje.
Galerija postaje mjesto gdje se prate video radovi: jedan DVD-player je stavljen javnosti na raspolaganje gdje ce se moci vidjeti oko 150 video radova.
Gosti galerije ce imati veliki izbor radova i moci ce da upravljaju izlozbom kako hoce, birati sto zele vidjeti itd.Principom izlozbe Video Salon ce se u velikoj mjeri prosiriti broj umjetnika oji cestvuju,nudi se takodje velika sloboda u pristupu te se omogucava predstavljanje umjetnickog rada na jedan smion nacin u cilju preispitivanja metoda selkcioniranja umjetnickih djela i uloge organizatora izlozbi.

Exposition collective d'art vidéo autour de 120 artistes représentant 20 pays: le panorama fragmentaire d'une pratique contemporaine dont la multiplicité des formes et l'abondance nous enjoint à questionner la réalité du "visuel", sa temporalité et sa mobilité. Nul autre ambition ici que d'ouvrir une brèche dans l'univers vidéo-graphique, de laisser entrevoir la richesse protéiforme du médium, sans que soit tenté d'en extraire une/des tendance(s) qui viendrai(en)t raffiner arbitrairement une monstration qui se veut simplement "brut". Pas de sujets, ni de problématiques, pas de techniques, ni de durée limitée imposée. L'acte curatorial fonctionne par ricochet. La galerie invite de nombreux artistes et plusieurs curators; chacun des artistes pouvant proposer le travail d'un autre, qui, à son tour, propose le travail d'un troisième, etc..
Libre et empirique principe d'accumulation des oeuvres auquel répond la spontanéité de la présentation: La libre consultation d'environ 150 vidéos et la mise à disposition d'un écran plat avec lecteur dvd.
