Site-specific theater – sometimes called environmental theater – is a performance which can only be done in a particular place or site. The physical constraints and characteristics of the site are used as part of the performance. Every site has a peculiar physical feautres to interact with. Site-specific theater uses the properties, qualities and meaning found at/on a given site.

This form of theater emphasizes particular images, stories and events that reveal the complex relationship between ourselves and our physical environment.
Also one of the greatest dramatic opportunities of site-specific theater is that, by staging its action in appropriate real-world settings rather than in settings within traditional theater spaces, it gives performances greater authenticity and audience engagement.
Goal of this project is to create site-specific performance using space in front, around, inside and above Duplex and 10m2 galleries. Although entirely depended on the development of the process, the performance will largely constitute a multi-layered exploration of the site and all of its possibilities.

This site-specific performance seeks to create an open, innovative and evolving work that will discover DREAM as a symbol and question line between sub consciousness and hallucination creating an atmosphere which will invite spectators into its surrealism.
Working title is “Theydream” (they instead of day in daydream). Performing Artists involved will bring a number of skills to the development process including, physical theater, contemporary dance, circus/acrobatic elements and music together with a mixture of staging conventions. They envisage to arrive to the creative process with an idea only, creating the entirety of the piece from scratch in the space chosen, thus adding to the truth of the atmosphere they wish to explore and exhibit.

T h e y d r e a m je site-specific performans kojim kroz temu snova učesnici istražuju intimni doživljaj Sarajeva i prostor galerije Duplex/10m2. Premijerno prikazivanje će se održati 3. Septembra 2010 u 20 h.
