UNTITLED
Florentine Lamarche & Alexandre Ovize

Photography, collage

Alexandre Ovize. Born in 1980, lives and works in Paris. Alexandre Ovize navigate in the city like a snail, very attached to the ground he crawls on it with a meticulousness, its eyes turns to 360°, they soft and is strewn on a view-point, thus it tries to understand the landscape which surrounds it. He becomes the archaeologist, he dissects it, laminates it, creates lines of them. As the archaeologist it develops a pathology of the precision: glance, cutting and raking. The forms which it progressively discovers with its scalpel try to be clarified with the History that it would have forgotten or that it would rediscover with the liking of its search. It ruins the landscape, erases it then finds it, it is the path of the visual memory which is recalled, the course of the eye. Nothing is logical, nor sure, it does not have there a postulate in this history which is looked at being built in fragments. In an interval between visual and sculptural, its formes/structures to think the landscape are organized around the problems of the image and its representations of space.
