Gallery Duplex 10m2 is proud to welcome artist Kosta Kulundžić, who is going to present his 10 big unseen summary works evolving around the tie between blood and belief.
Even though he's effected by the conflict in ex-Yugoslavia, Kosta doesn't want to anchor his topic on a precise geographical point; he prefers describing "a global evil" which has been gnawing our history and our society since always.
Mixing the images of current affaires with the portraits of his close relatives, the artist makes us understand that the belligerents change, but the system stays the same and it repeats tirelessly.
Like in a game of a musical chair, this horror combining faith and blood, went through his country and made itself at home, before going somewhere else.
"It’s with great pride and a lot of humility that I want to present my work in Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than having an exhibition, I want to conclude these past years by shucking the religious conflicts in Sarajevo, where they were the hardest, the most inhumane. I often felt guilty and angry, faced with these happenings, and yet I didn’t understand anything".
Kosta Kulundzić is currently represented by the gallery Magda Danysz in Paris, the gallery Raphael 12 in Frankfurt and the 18 Gallery in Shanghai.

La Galerie Duplex/10m2 est heureuse de recevoir pour sa première exposition à Sarajevo l’artiste Kosta Kulundzic qui présente dix grandes encres inédites et récapitulatives de son travail autour du lien entre le sang et la croyance.
Bien que très marqué par le conflit en ex-Yougoslavie, Kosta ne veut pas ancrer son propos dans un lieu géographique précis ; il décrit plutôt un « mal » global qui ronge notre histoire et nos sociétés depuis toujours.
Mixant des images d’actualité et des portraits de ses proches, l’artiste nous fait comprendre que, finalement, les belligérants changent mais le système est le même et se répète inlassablement.
Comme dans un jeu de chaise musicale, cette horreur mêlant foi et sang est passée par son pays, y a pris ses aises, avant de migrer autre part.
« C’est avec une grande fierté et beaucoup d’humilité que je souhaite présenter mon travail en Bosnie-Herzégovine. Plus qu’une exposition, je veux clore ces années passées à décortiquer les conflits religieux à Sarajevo, là où ce fut le plus dur, le plus inhumain; pour expier ce sentiment de culpabilité, car souvent face aux événements j’ai eu de la colère et je n’ai rien compris.»

Galerija Duplex 10m2 s ponosom ugošćuje Kostu Kulundžića s njegovom prvom izložbom u Sarajevu, kojom predstavlja 10 velikih, nenezavršenih i sažetih djela koja objedinjuju njegov o vezi između krvi i vjerovanja.
Iako je obilježen konfliktom bivše Jugoslavije, Kosta ne želi otpočeti ovu temu na nekom određenom geografskom mjestu; on radije opisuje "globalno zlo" koje oduvjek izjeda našu povijest i naše društvo.
Mješajući slike trenutnih dešavanja sa portretima svojih bližnjih, umjetnik nam objašnjava da se ratnici mijenjaju, ali sistem ostaje isti i neumorno se ponavlja.
Kao u muzičkoj igri sa jednom stolicom manje, ovaj užas koji mješa vjeru s krvi je prošao njegovom zemljom, i tu se smjestio prije nego što krene dalje.
"Svoje djelo u BiH želim prikazati s velikim ponosom i mnogo poniznosti. Ovo je više od izložbe, jer želim zaključiti rad posljednjih godina razotkrivajući religijske konflikte u Sarajevu, tamo gdje je bilo najteže, najnehumanije. Često sam sa osjećajem krivice, naspram ovih događanja, osjećao srdžbu, i ništa nisam shvatao."
Kostu Kulundzića trenutno predstavljaju galerija Magda Danysz u Parizu, galerija Raphael 12 u Frakfurtu i 18 Gallery iz Šangaja.
